DESCHUTES RIVER MAY 29, 2015
Many happy anglers on the river these past few weeks, chasing trout with Salmon flies.
As the Salmon fly hatch winds down the fish are moving out into the current and away from the bank. There are also Yellow Sallies, Green Drakes, PMD's and Caddis. Dries with dropper have been working quite well. Nymphing has been good in the faster current edges.
Don't be afraid to huck a big bug in the center of the river and have some fun.

SALMON FLIES & TRAFFIC May 9,2015
The Salmon flies are starting to fly in Maupin. You should get a lot of refusals. Keep changing flies and the fish will take care of the rest. Nymphing is still working great, and providing some fun action.
More Salmon Flies were moving around Maupin compared to below Shears Falls, however it was still good nymphing with some good dry fly action.
Highway 26 over Mt Hood is under construction. There is one land road with 24 hour flagging.
allow about 30 minutes extra for travel time when heading to the Deschutes and Warm Springs.

FEBUARY WINTER STEELHEAD
Bright Winter Steelhead running in both the Sandy and Clackamas rivers. The water levels are very important to where the fish hold in the rivers. We have unusual warm water and weather for this time of year. Causing quick spikes and drops in the water levels, with lots of low water levels. This keeps the fish moving and holding lies change daily on some runs. So fish the whole run. We landed this nice Steelhead in the head of the run.
